Final NBA Season Stats

The Boston Celtics are NBA Champions for an 18th time! They break their 17-17 tie with the Los Angeles Lakers, and reclaim the most titles in NBA History. The two J’s FINALLY get it done, Jaylen Brown takes Finals MVP, Mazzulla gets stamped as a young emerging coach, and as we gain distance from the day of, we will reflect on all the previous Celtics young successful but not champion seasons as an integral part of the process that led to this run. Jrue Holiday gets his second ring immediately after being traded, KP wards off the Dallas Demons and gets his title, Al Horford makes his HOF case a lot more interesting. And last, the net ratings nerds can celebrate that this team was truly dominant and historic (I’m one of those net rating nerds 😂😂).

For me, it was the end of the best NBA season of my now THIRTEEN years since I started sports betting. I finished +96.14u, and although I had moments above +100, lifts and dips happen in betting and +96u is so freaking dominant that I have to be over the moon with my success. This was also the year I went full time into sports betting, increased my risk tolerance, and now find myself 100% confident sports betting is a sustainable career, not a hobby or a passion project.

I also had a few other really rewarding moments this season. Joining Action Network as a contributor and appearing on Buckets Podcast regularly (a pod I was a listener to for years) is super cool for me. I had a great conversation on The Ringer Gambling Show with Raheem Palmer. I’ve been on VSIN Live regularly with Jared Smith who I watch frequently during the NFL season. I became a weekly guest with Adam Kaufman on Boston radio on his show The Gambler, and we noticed that every time I was on, the Celtics covered the spread the next day. On top of just a successful financial year for me, I also developed some personal relationships that mean a lot to me.

As I talked about on the “Changes Coming to my Content” podcast, I am going to be launching a paid/premium service for my up to the minute picks. That will launch tomorrow! It will be first sent to substack audience only, and because you guys have been here and supportive of my content- there will be a pretty sizable promo code to help initiate the access. The idea is once we start rolling, it pays for itself and then some!

I also think the consolidation of putting all my plays in one easy access place will become way easier to tail. I understand it is hard to find all of my bets amidst a bunch of tweets and a later summarized/delayed newsletter… So the volume of plays to follow should increase- and I will be capping Olympics, Summer League, NFL and NBA Futures, along with anything else that pops up!
