🚨 Quick Exciting Announcement 🚨
For all of my NBA content moving forward, I have partnered with and joined the Fantasy Basketball International (🏀FBI) team to lead their gambling & DFS division.
I will be doing a weekly NBA Gambling/DFS show on Wednesdays, and a Fantasy Basketball Streaming show on Saturdays. All of the audio can still be found The Advantage Sports Betting Podcast feed, if you want to watch the video version, it will be on the FBI Youtube Channel. I will also be active in their Discord, including running a private league, weekly NBA Wednesday DFS contest. When those things are live, I will include links here for anyone interested in joining!
The first show was posted this week, covering NBA Awards Predictions & Best Bets.
While we discussed so many names and odds that caught our eye on the NBA Awards show, here are the following that I have submitted as bets thus far, and a few win totals/NBA Futures I have added this week!
Joel Embiid NBA MVP (+1000 BetRivers), 0.5u
76ers Ov 47.5 (-120 FD), 1unit
- The NBA fandom enters the 23-24 season very down on the 76ers and Embiid. Regardless of if it is the Harden drama, another (injured) playoff flub, the coaching change to Nick Nurse being a scheme question, the general sentiment is anti 76ers right now. On the flip side, they have won 50+ games in every season with Embiid as the focal point of the team, including playing through drama and a weaker supporting cast when Simmons was holding out for a trade. I expect the 76ers to pick up right where they left off, the 3rd best team in the East. Joel has finished top 3 MVP for three straight seasons, and now the 76ers come in with a win total sub 50, and Embiid 5th in the odds. The Celtics and the Bucks both brought in new pieces and diminished depth. If they sustain injuries, or dont come out as strong, 76ers may be a top 1-2 seed in the East, and Embiid controls narrative of bringing yet another team to 50 wins.
Franz Wagner MIP (+3500 DK), 1unit
If you saw Franz play in the FIBA tournament this summer, this bet makes a lot of sense and the odds are insanely juicy! If the Magic may the playoffs, and some people have them doing so, and their projected win total puts them not far off, then I find playing this escalator the best way to get down on a possible Magic breakout season.
Erik Spoelstra COY (+1800 BetMGM), 0.5unit
He will win Coach of the Year eventually. At 18:1, I’m willing to play it every year for the next 18. I also think this is a sneaky good season for him as a candidate, a lot of Heat drama this offseason, not getting who they wanted, if they come out the same and develop more talent, more credit to coach spo.
Bam Adebayo DPOY (+1000 Caesars/Fanduel), 0.5unit
Similar sentiment here. I bet the Hawks Division odds at like +220, but now a nice way to cover in case the Heat still win the SouthEast division is to play Miami awards. We know Bam has been mighty close to getting this award, Rudy comes into the season stuck in a weird fit in Minnesota. Draymond enters the season injured. JJJ and Mobley provide the next up toughest competition.
Bojan Bogdonovic Under 19.7 PPG (1.5u)
Is this line a joke? Slam it. Truth be told I put more than 1.5units on this, im just trying to seem responsible in a writeup LOL. New coach, cade return, brought in offseason wings, and hes an expiring contract trade candidate. Why is this line at 19.7? I cannot answer that.
Warriors Un 48.5 (-113 BetRivers), 0.5u
Draymond comes into the season banged up, the Chris Paul iso fit is questionable in the Kerr movement system, the young guys have not properly developed, and Klay may be cooked. I think the warriors are in the play in tournamnet this season, or like a weak 6 seed (again). I like the under, just cant bet it too hard because they are winners and I’m calling for the cliff.
Nets Un 37.5 (-110 BetMGM), 0.5u
To me it feels this line has the baked in possibility the Nets make a big trade mid season and bring in a disgruntled star. I think options are going to be limited because of the parody I expect across the league this year, and a lot of teams thinking they can win. If stars do become unhappy, I think the other NY team has better assets to make a big splash.

Denv -5 (0.75u)
