NBA Best Bets Monday 10/30
I make money betting the NBA and give it back betting the NFL; I guess time is a flat circle π. Sunday was another strong NBA betting day, and a down NFL Sunday that hinges on Monday Night Football Detroit Lions -1.5 completing my open teaser legs to break even. Letβs get to a few other bets Iβve placed, which include one placed against the other Detroit team.
OKC Thunder -5 (1u)
The Thunder play their first B2B of the season but have the advantage that both games are at home, and their first game was early day followed by the next evening, so more than 24 hours rest between tip offs. This line is already at -5.5 on Fanduel and a few other books, VSIN splits showing DraftKings money coming in on the -5 there, and knowing its a key NBA number, I wanted to grab it with full unit exposure before it moves. The Pistons are the thunder opponent. I think the Pistons young bigs will have a tough task against the relentless driving of the Thunder wings.
Pelicans -2.5 (0.5u)
I really like what I see from the pels to start the season, they look like they will shoot over their win total and be a playoff threat that is only going to get healthier with Alvarado and Murphy due back. The Warriors struggle on the road, yet just came off a road win vs the Kings, their crosstown rival that is barely a road game because its a 40 minute bus ride. Now the Warriors travel. The reason for a half unit is because the Pelicans lack of depth, and filling it in with youth, gives me slight pause against an experienced Warriors team at relative full strength.
Atlanta Hawks/Minnesota Timberwolves Un 234.5 (1u)
The battle of the wrong trades/bad fit trades! In an alternate universe, Dejounte Murray is next to Antman, and Gobert is covering the back line of Trae Young. It would make so much more sense, but instead we have two tough fits that often sputter on offense, with the hawks traveling off a road B2B. I expect this pace to be much slower than anticipated, and a clear under spot. With the number at 234.5, I think its possible we get multiple points of movement here.
Celtics Moneyline (-450, PointsBet, 1.125u to win 0.25u)
Celtics come off 3 days rest, have a very short travel trip, and match up so well against this wizards team. Wizards lack perimeter defense at the wing position, may be missing Gafford on the inside, deal with a porzingis revenge game and Jrue Holiday and Derrick white to swallow up Jordan Poole. WizKids are in for a long night here. I dont want to play the spread moving -9.5 to -10.
Chris Paul 6th Man of the Year (+2000 DK, 1unit)
If the point god accepts this role now that the Warriors are healthy and will start rolling soon, then he should be the lead candidate. Although he doesnt have the typical scoring, he will have crazy efficient analytics, leadership narrative, historical narrative, elite assist numbers, be in a winning situation, and likely be closing games. Him being 20:1 is stupid.
