Cavaliers -3 (-105 DraftKings, 1.5u)
The Cleveland Cavaliers are starting to play really good team basketball. Despite being down Garland and Mobley, Donovan Mitchell has finally returned to full health and he is playing a great two man game with Jarrett Allen. It is reminiscent of the Donovan/Rudy Jazz, featuring a stout defense, an elite creator, and solid shooting and playmaking in the surrounding parts. The Nets meanwhile are going the other direction, most notably with Dennis Smith Jr taking time away from Dinwiddie. The team looks dejected, and on a European rode trip, give me the team with the hot hand and underrated culture instead of the struggling team with an overrated culture.

Why is this the smaller bet? Because Lebron and KD are the two greatest scorers of my life time and I am taking the under! Ultimately this comes down to pace and 3pt frequency. Both of these teams rank bottom 10 in numerous important team 3pt shooting statistics, and they feature players who thrive in the mid range. Even though guys like KD, Booker, and AD are super efficient in the mid range- it is slow to get to your shot and only counts for 2, and normally leads to a half court set the other way. I actually really like this play but I don’t see it moving a ton so I will keep it lower than my basketball mind wants to go.
