NBA Best Bets Thursday October 24th

Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good! Last night finished +1unit as the Suns/Clippers game goes to a DESPERATELY needed overtime to cash the over. I thought that game was going to end at around 200, nope, cash the over 222.5. Two winning nights in a row to start the association, including all strong caps and gifts from the gambling gods. Keep it coming!

I’m going to break down Mavs/Spurs Under because this one is personal to me. Mavericks and Spurs played the first game of the NBA season last year, and this was at the time my content started to emerge. People realized I knew what I was doing and am pretty sharp in the NBA space. I started talking to, and making connections with other sharps and long time pros I’ve looked up to. My first call in was Spurs/Mavs Over 226.5, and I quickly watched the entire market shift on this line shortly after a text I sent. The line closed at 231.5, and I was mind blown. In Victor Wembanyama’s first game ever, I know for nearly damn certain I was the guy who caused the biggest line move. The game would end 126-119, and a soaring and easy cash to the over. My phone started blowing up, “Good work, keep it up.”

I’ve never publicly told this story. Relationships are important in this space, and running to social media or telling a cool story on a podcast just was not necessary. I did not expect to tell it now, but a year removed, with another opening night Spurs/Mavs game where I have a bet on the total, the opportunity presented itself nicely.

I played Mavs/Spurs Under 233.5 end of summer/early fall at DraftKings. We knew at the time Devin Vassell was going to be out, and that Wembanyama was now coming into the season as a -275 preseason favorite for Defensive Player of the Year. On offense they now run through Chris Paul, who sets in a halfcourt and operates on the screen and roll. The Mavericks side was a mid season switch to a 2 big rotation with 48 minutes of rim protection and pick and roll runners. This was a no brainer under north of 230, now sitting at 229.5, I still dont even mind a slight under. I will not be opening a middle on this line, despite being over 3 points ahead of the market and having the wiggle room to do it at +value.
