NBA Best Bets Tuesday May 21st
New Play and New Podziemskis
Quick email, two things to cover!
1. New Podcasts!
Today AV and I did a live show episode of Check Ball where we discuss the hottest topics around the NBA. It was genuinely an awesome episode with over 200 people in the live studio with us. Of course we said something nice about a team headed to cancun, then touched on some of the eliminated teams biggest questions headed into the offseason. We also created a starting 5 of Best Role Players in the Playoffs, reviewed the craziest statistic we heard, and shouted out some best individual performances. Lastly, we had time to talk some NBA Draft Lottery and how the whole thing was kinda a flub.
Tomorrow I will be doing a Conference Finals Betting Preview at 12 noon ET. I am likely going to open it up as a live show because the timing of the record relative to the start of the series. We will discuss series pricing, market movement so far, player props and be able to answer any questions from those in studio with us. The video will appear on my twitter timeline at noon, and I will also be sure to upload it to the podcast feed immediately after.
2. New Best Bet:
Celtics/Pacers Un 221.5 (0.33u, CZ)
I am kind of kicking myself for not grabbing the opening line at 223.5, but since this has bounced around a bit. Its clearly an under spot relative to the open, but it has probably settled into fair value range, and thus I will grab the best available number but at a small wager. This is currently available at Caesars and Bet365. I also have Celtics -9 which is a bit of an inverse correlation, not terribly so, but thus the small play. Ultimately this is a spot where I think the Celtics may have a little rest vs rust discussion to have, and Pacers a tired legs syndrome from travel. I also think both teams will be keyed in on defensive assignments from the jump of this series. The Celtics set their team tone with tenacious defense, the Pacers sometimes have mental lapses that they will need to clean up.
