The WHOP is riding a wild +6.1 unit swing over the last four days, and we’re keeping the momentum rolling into the NBA’s own March Madness. Know what else is wild? Wild Wild West Schedule Quirks! This week, we’re spotlighting four Playoff-bound teams with actionable betting angles— and ignoring the sketchy injury reporting from other tanking squads.
LIGHT FADE OF MINNY
The Minnesota Timberwolves have a light week with plenty of rest between games. They face the Pacers in Indy, then return home with three full days off before playing the Suns and Pistons. Anthony Edwards’ thumb laceration isn’t serious but may affect his shooting, especially from deep. Despite the favorable schedule, I’m fading the Wolves against Indy’s elite three-point defense and Detroit’s paint-heavy attack.
CAN CLIPS COVER ON THE ROAD?
The LA Clippers hit the road for a 4-game trip against the Knicks, Nets, Cavs, and Magic. They should fare well against the stagnant offenses of New York (without Brunson) and Orlando, both lacking a true floor general. The Cavs are still struggling to find their rhythm despite some “get-right” spots here and there. Keep an eye on Ivica Zubac’s Points + Rebounds overs, as he has been making a name for himself against elite big men.
REVENGE JIMMY BUCKETS
The Golden State Warriors, just 0.5 games out of the Play-In, will likely have Steph Curry sidelined for a while due to a pelvic contusion. They face the Heat first in Miami, marking Jimmy Butler’s return since the trade deadline, then the Pelicans and Spurs. I expect Jimmy to lead the Warriors, while Moody and Kuminga carry the Warriors’ offense, and a rejuvenated Draymond Green anchors the defense.
LAKERS GET LEBRON BACK
The Lakers got LeBron James back, but was it too soon? They face a tough road stretch against the Magic, Pacers, Bulls (rematch), and the 5th-ranked Grizzlies. With all games in the East, the pressure is on Luka Doncic and JJ Redick to get creative against a mix of contrasting playstyles.
