Another winning Tuesday, holla!!!
I played the Over 220 for Knicks/Pacers and right from the jump the scoring rate and game pace was blistering. At the end of the 1Q there were 76 points scored, I was 20 points ahead of the market, and the definition of a sweat free bet was brewing.
In the second quarter, Jalen Brunson left the game with a foot injury, returned to the locker room, and reporters were left scrambling to figure out the potential severity. What I noticed was the pace remain super fast, and I started to wonder if Brunson is a player who may impact UNDERS despite being such a hub of offense. My rationale was that JB operates in pick and roll, getting matchups switches he wants, isolating and playing a half court game. While he scores so much, it does slow the overall pace down.
With already a near guaranteed win in my pocket on Over 220, I did not feel the need to live bet anything else. When I open middles, the impact is twofold- to increase the ceiling but just as important is to mitigate some risk. In this scenario, the need to risk mitigate is nearly nonexistent when I am so far ahead of the market.
And then with 9mins left in the 3Q, Brunson comes back in, quickly scores an AND-1, and the Garden is roaring again. The live total at this point was 249.5, and I bet the under for 0.25u, just a fraction of my original bet on the Over 220. I decided to open up the middle because of basketball reasons, not risk management and bankroll reasons.
My read was 100% spot on. The rest of the game, the live total is 7 points lower, hovering in the low 240s. I am set up for another Fiddles Middles type of sweep.
When we come back from the final commercial break, Brunson is at the line for a technical foul. Then Carlisle gets a 2nd and gets ejected. Then the Pacers down 9 with 22 seconds still foul instead of letting Brunson dribble it out. Then the Pacers still shoot a meaningless 3 as time expires, and Haliburton nails it, and I lose the under by 2.
Honestly, thats a laugh out loud comical level bad beat. A commercial break technical, a fire my team up ejection, fouling with no shot clock left, and then knocking in another 3. LOLLL. โBoofed.โ
Ultimately it was a fractional reposition and still another great night for me.
Here is to keeping it rolling. ๐ป
NBA Best Bets May 9/10th Podcast is up!!! ๐๐
I need a name for the crew of Drew Johnson, Mike Levy, and myself. As you guys are getting to know with weekly shows, those are the two full time professional poker players and sports gamblers in my life. They are not in the content ๐ but kind of now are since they are weekly guests on my podcast. Maybe ChatGPT can give me some poker/sports betting crossover group names. Or if you got any ideas, let me know!
However, we got together tonight after Knicks/Pacers and recorded a 30 minute show. We have odds for every round 2 series on the board, so we broke down the games and angles we find value in.
I will also be recording a show with Mike Levy tomorrow going over NBA Tips for Live Betting! If you have questions on this strategy based podcast, send them in, otherwise listen to us break down the upcoming games and look for that podcast to come up tomorrow or Friday.
