Every NBA Playoff series is now 2 games in and headed for a venue change. On Thursday night we will see the Knicks head to Motor City, home of the Pistons. The Denver Nuggets go from altitude to sea level in SoCal to be the first playoff opponent at the new Intuit Dome. The Grizzlies and Thunder will play in Memphis, but that game could be in Paris, outdoors in Antarctica, or on Mars before that would make any difference.
The Advantage NBA Playoff Game 3 breakdowns will be essential to understanding from a gambling perspective some of the values of venue changes, desperation angles, what we have learned in a series and what happens when you see teams play 3x in a row against one another. Be sure to tune in LIVE at 10am on my twitter (@FiddlesPicks), on Drew’s twitter (@RantingJohnson), and on Youtube. The show will be uploaded to The Advantage Sports Betting Podcast feed right after we wrap up.
That said... we can't leave you without a best-bet that you can get down on yourself simply by reading this newsletter. Grab yourself half unit of OKC Thunder -8.5 -110 @ Draftkings. OKC is an absolute unit and has a pretty significant match-up advantage against this iteration of the Fizzlies at almost every position. Memphis is also dealing with a new coach and all of the chemistry issues associated with that. I expect another OKC blowout. You could also consider waiting until Memphis has a slight lead in the first quarter. Memphis will assuredly throw their best punch out of the gate tomorrow. The waiting angle is a little risky though in my opinion: OKC is so good that a punch from the Fizz may not be able to do any significant damage.
