I went a little wild week 1 with my bets. I was excited for NFL. I have to dial in and research more... considering a subscription on VSIN but it's $50 a month and my unit size is not that large... thoughts? Also have Chris Olave on my fantasy team :)

Ahh Olave owners get a bonus entry in the giveaway, so ill throw your name into the randomizer twice!! You are asking the right question, i believe betting subscriptions to be worth it if you 1. clearly derive and see different results and 2. is less than 2units of return to cover the entirety of subscription cost. This would apply to any gambling paid services, add them all up and it should be within 2 units, def not over.

Great! Could you remind me of unit size? Wasn't it 0.5-1% of total on sportsbooks?

I had success with NBA betting splits but NFL I think the lines change a lot more due to key injuries mid-week during practice, etc. Thoughts?

my unit is 1.2% throughout any bet or sport. My NFL bets tend to be bigger bets (like 1u baseline, a lot of 1.25u when in NBA a lot of 0.75u bets) because the relative key numbers are more important, thus obtaining CLV carries more positive expected value.

But yes, you are right, NFL lines change a lot more and lines do not trend in one direction as often. this is also because the numbers are so important and open up buyback opportunities for people who got the early movement to come back the other way. Like last night, i had Eagles -6 and Vikings +7.5

Let's go! Bummed I wasn't able to catch all the Week 1 lines, but hopping on most all the Week 2 lines except the Browns game which is already gone, while I'm still waiting for the Jets Dallas lines to open in my book.

Somehow only managed to tail your losing picks this week. Only tailed about 5 spots but following your moves closely. Enjoying the learning and slowly building my discipline.

Most looking forward to seeing if the Steelers can turn it around in Week 2. An abysmal Week 1 performance! And hopefully Olave can keep my fantasy team going!
